Thankfully, the core concepts in Port Royale 4 would remind you of other titles that you might’ve tried out.
I’ve only played the first couple of games in the series, and only in passing (I didn’t delve into them too much). Truth be told, my experience with the Port Royale franchise hasn’t been that extensive. It’s from developer Gaming Minds Studios and publisher Kalypso Media. They can be People, Cash, Goods etc.Port Royale 4 is a trading/economic management game set in the Caribbean during the Age of Sail.
There are a number of random treasure spots too (I think 18 or so) that you can pick up by sailing along the shoreline. I think I have had 6 treasure maps waiting to collect before collecting them because I was going through a serious building stint that included fortifications to level 7 at 5 cities and another 30 businesses in one city and residences to go with them along with Large Shipyards at those 5 cities along with some other support buildings (Schools, Hospitals etc).ġ8m gold didn't go far but that combined with 3 treasure fleets and my normal cash level allowed me to complete all my building projects. You can get another treasure map and keep the completed one till you need an influx of cash. If you don't have any need of the cash from the treasure at the time you don't have to go and find it. 5 or more seems to boost the chance of finding it alot. It is possible to find the treasure with only one piece of the map but it is unlikely. If you subsequently can't find it after traveling to the location go and find another piece and try again.
If you have 5 or more of the pieces showing enough for you to guess where it is you can sail over it using your skill level 5 watching captain and you may find it. With Treasure Maps (9 pieces gained through quests and purchases per map) when you get all 9 pieces a flag will appear on the Sea Map at the site the Treasure Map shows.
